Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Yoruba socio-cultural group has condemned fatal attacks on Yorubaland and its people as well as other non-indigenous inhabitants by Fulani herdsmen and Niger-Delta militants.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson of its National Coordinating Council (NCC), Comrade Sina Akinpelu, the group says enough is enough.
According to Akinpelu, the OPC is able and ever ready to match force with force if that should be the only solution to the incessant attacks on Yorubaland.
He then called on the attackers and those that are aspiring to attack Yorubaland or its interests to have a rethink, stating that there will be immediate and far-reaching reprisals, the
type of which is easier imagined than experienced.
He stated further while the group recognizes the right of all people to self-determination, it also believe that such right should not infringe on the rights of others, particularly the peace-loving and amiable Yoruba people.
Akinpelu then appealed to Northern and Niger-Delta elders and leaders to call their people to order, insisting that no group or race has monopoly of violence.
It will be recalled that Lagos State however came under attack by gunmen, suspected to be Niger Delta Militants .
