Mats Hummels, former Borussia Dortmund captain has revealed why he opted for Bayern Munich despite offers from top Premier League clubs, such as Manchester United and Liverpool.
Hummels who moved to his former club’s rival, Bayern Munich, said while thinking about the club to join, there was no Premier League side that befit his interest or is at the level he wants to be as a player. Stating that the one that could have lured him was going to miss the Champions League next season.
“At this stage there just was not that one English club where the overall package was fitting,” Hummels said in an interview in Germany.
“The overall package means: a club which fascinates me; a club I have always wanted to join, and where the sporting constellation is right, and which of course plays Champions League football next season. And because of the latter one club was ruled out, and you can envision which club that was.”Share on Facebook
